#VitasExchangeLife - KLCC x Chinatown

The second day spent by going to the famous twin tower and Chinatown!! More new friends at the second day. Ayaka Isono the Japanese girl as the tour leader for this trip, she has been in Malaysia for a semester so she knows the area better than us. Kanata and Hideyuki, i met them for the first time. First trip with Chloé, first time meeting Kanata and Hideyuki the Japanese brothers -no they are not brother, just that they are going everywhere always together so i named them Japanese brothers hahaha- and Lisa Lee a Taiwanese girl. We started the day by meeting at the dormitory cafetaria, went to the universiti station by 3 taxis. i had my first lrt experience today, i bought the coin from the machine. so cool! we don't have it in Indonesia -_- but now i upgraded to the card so bye bye coin :p

#VitasExchangeLife - Midvalley Megamall

The first day in KL spent by going to the mall. My cousin in Indonesia commented on my activity on path "Vita always visit the mall no matter where..." hahaha We went to Midvalley megamall, they said it is the closest mall to our dormitory. I went there with Mbak Vina, Mbak Citra, Mbak Bonti, Mas Azro, Mas Ghanes, Disky, Petrina, Ching Hui, Kiyomi, and Neary. Still with the Indonesian dominated the group :p We took bus to get there, i didn't remember the bus number from Universiti station to Midvalley, because since then i never took bus to midvalley anymore, we only take Taxi from now on because we don't have to change vehicle or something if we take bus. The thing that i remember is we changed bus twice in order to get there. The best thing that i like about Malaysia is the public transportation compared to Indonesia -_-

When we reached Midvalley we went to Daiso and having lunch there. My first meal in KL was Korean food, Jjang-Myeon. Can you believe it, Korean food in Malaysia. Okay! You did it well Vit.

One Step Outside the Comfort Zone

A little bit late kinda post... I know... but it is better late than never right? :D
I don't know where to start... A lot of things happened for me this past two weeks. A lot of wonderful joy excitement oh I can't even describe it, but you know everything needs sacrifice. I need to postpone my graduation one semester, I have not to meet my family in 5 months, my friends. I miss them so much, but this is not what i want to talk about. But everything has their own price, i paid, i get what i want.
I met a lot of new, friendly, lovely, and all of those kind things also priceless experience anything can't buy here.. Here? Where? So here we go... let the story begins.
Vita, Mbak Vina, Mbak Vidya, Mbak Citra at T2 Juanda Int'l Airport
August 29, I arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, Malaysia with 6 other friends from Universitas Airlangga for exchange program. Finally God!! I've been dreaming of having exchange program since forever and dream comes true. Alhamdulillah. Right after landed we met student helpers from University Malaya and others exchange students from South Korea. To be honest, the first few hours I arrived at KLIA2, I felt really strange. They speak several different language; English, Malay, Indian, no one speak Indonesian moreover Javanese except my friends and I. So I know this is how jetlag feels.
The-so-nowadays-kind-of-photos. Pardon my big hands :p
After i arrived at the dorm, i started doing well, I started to speak. I met my roommate! This is my first time sharing bedroom with other people, i never slept with anyone since kindergarten. My roommate is from Taiwan, Liao Ching Hui, she said her english name is Stacy, but i like to call her by her Chinese name or Cece (older sister in Mandarin) because she is older than me rather than calling her by her english name, because her Chinese name was given by her parents while her english name was given by her teacher... Come on.. She is a really older-sister-kind person. She takes care of me, reminds me of every little things, even she always asked me, why don't you pray? and i said i'm on my period, Eventhough we have different faith she still reminds me of it, one night we went to chinese street food, then i asked her what's this food because it was written on mandarin, she said it is pork, you can't eat it. Omg i'm so touched! Even i wanna cry now when i write this post :') but i won't! she's here with me hhaha
My dorm room with my roommate in one picture. Forgive me Cece :p

Vita and Ching Hui on the RapidKL Bus on the way to Midvalley Megamall
At the same night when i arrived at the dormitory, I met a Cambodian girl her name is Neary. A calm person, love to laugh to everything, she always following me to everywhere haha only last night she didn't come with me to the nightmarket because she had a call with her friend. Tonight, i ate at her room, she offered me food, and i was so hungry so i just eat it hehe thanks big sister who is more little than me. Neary is my next-door-neighboor at the dorm, her roommate is a Japanese girl, Kiyomi Shirozu. A very cute girl! She likes to say Sugoiii! (it means splendid in Japanese) and we like to imitate her and clap our hands :D
Vita and Neary at KL Bird Park

Vita and Kiyomi at Manmaru Homemade Udon Restaurant. Japanese food!

Vita and Chloé on the LRT heading to Sentul
The next day, I met a Switzerland girl, Chloé Godon. She is really like my older sister. I follow her everywhere. We travelled together around KL with other friends, even I went to a Japanese Festival only with Chloé at Shah Alam, we didn't know that Shah Alam is actually outside KL :'D but it was a good memory. Chloé said "ei, Vita I am going to a Japanese festival in Malaysia with an Indonesian friend." and I was like "ay, Chloé you're right. How so tourist we are now." hahaha but luckily we met Hideyuki Kawano and Kanata Suzuki at the station when we arrived at Shah Alam. Yay! We met our Japanese friends. Kiyomi introduced us to Hide and Kanata a few days before. The best thing of the trip to the Japanese festival is the free shuttle bus. Not only it was for free, but also a very luxurious shuttle bus! The first time for me to get on 2 floored bus, and you know it was so Sugoi! felt like private vehicle. We met a chinese local boy named Winson. He was going to the Japanese festival too. But then we never met him again after the farewell on the bus.

The orientation day came. I met even a lot more of friends. I can even mention their name one by one. We speak different languages, we usually don't eat the same thing back to our countries, we have different cultures, we also age different but the best thing here is we all are the same. Exchange students first semester of Malaya University.  I will always remember you all dear friends.
The orientation day wefie with roommate!

University of Malaya Exchange Programme Student :p

I am already at the first week of the school day. Huff, a lot of things to do only in order to get the courses. I originally took only two courses; Chinese Cultural Society in Southeast Asia and Adolescent Psychology but then i took two more courses; Modernisation Process of Korea and An Introduction of Indian Civilization but then i dropped the Indian Civilization today, because it taught in Malay language. I can understand what the lecturer said, but i'm worried of the presentation task. I'm not able to speak Malay language -_____- So, bye Mr. Rajantheran hehe
Oh well during my 12 days here I learned that umbrella, mineral water, small towel, and hand fan are the things that must be in your bag everyday! Why umbrella? you never know when it's going to rain, besides it is so hot here so the umbrella can also be used to block the sunlight. Let's see how good i can do to manage my days here. Ciao!

Short Getaway

Do you believe in God’s power that He can do everything that we couldn’t even imagine? Yes, I do. I know it sounds cliché, but you have to trust me that it happens to me, it real happens.
I posted that I was bored and need to meet new people on my Line account on May 31; I was really upset for being alone and had nothing to do at my boarding house. Then I think that God heard my wishes. There was my journey to Mount Bromo and Batu started. It wasn’t easy at first though, I had to choose between two options; My Papa let me to go to Bali, everything had been set, place to stay, place to go, except for the ticket. I didn’t know why I felt so lazy to book the ticket, so I postponed and keep postponed to buy the ticket until Mbak Dahlia texted me at Whatsapp, she asked me to go to her room and when I arrived at her room, he asked me to substitute her as the guide for the summer course and exchange students from Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia to Bromo because she couldn’t go due to the appointment that she has made with her friends. I was in dilemma, so confused between two options. At the other side, I never been in Bromo, and I have been in Bali, but at the other side the journey to Bromo only last for two days, and the journey to Bali is for 4 days. The plus thing from the trip that Mbak Dahlia offered me was I go there with the foreign student, I love to make new friends, and also Mbak Dahlia told me I could bring my friend with me to the Bromo, so I said yes and asked Dinda to join us, she also said yes. There we go, and bye bye Bali :’) see you at another good times, though I know every time is always good in you.
The trip started on Friday, May 5 at 10.15pm o’clock. We gathered in front of my beloved faculty building, when I arrived there with Dinda, Gift and her 3 friends from Thailand; Pop, Pe, and Nong have already waited for us, then the Singaporean; Afiqah and Fa’izah came, also the Malaysian; Atiqah, Dayang, Tira, Yew, Faizal, and Azmeer (sorry if I write your name wrong guys :p). The van was leaving at 11.30pm, the driver told us that we will arrive there around 3.30pm, but at 2.30 we were already there. It was so cold and dark. None of us remember to bring flashlight, so we used our phone as the flashlight hahaha luckily I brought my powerbank to charge my phone. We walked for almost 2 hours before some local people approached us, told us that we took the wrong way if we want to go to Bromo, it turned out that we walked to Mount Penanjakan hahaha so we took the ride to Bromo, 15 thousands rupiah for each person. At first, Atiqah didn’t want to ride it, I didn’t even know why, she even cried because of it, but then Fa’izah told me that Atiqah was afraid of riding motorcycle, but at the end she tried it.
The fight didn’t stop there, we still had to hike the mountain, it was not that high but enough to take my breath away for some times, but beautiful thing is worth to fight for because it doesn’t come with only a small effort.
I finally reached the top of the mountain,
the view from the top of Mount Bromo
I could see the crater in the center of the mount, I heard the sound of boiled sulfur inside the crater, the smell was so strong, and at some time I even coughed because of it. Still it couldn’t beat its beauty, it was so beautiful up there, I could see almost everything below us, they looked so small hahaha then the sun rose, too bad I didn’t take any photo of it.
Then we walked down after taking lot of welfies :p right after we stepped on the last ladder, we saw some people were selling the immortal flower, Edelweis, it was so beautiful also, I couldn’t hold myself not to buy it, I bought a bouquet for 20 thousands rupiah. But after that I felt so sorry for buying it, I felt like they belonged to the nature, people shouldn’t pick them out for the economic benefits. But I am not lying they’re so beautiful, even Dayang said that it looked like a broccoli hahaha looked yum eh?
I initiated to go back to the bus walking because I didn’t want Atiqah cries again, besides we had already know n the path, I was optimist that we wouldn’t get lost for the second time, but then some motorcyclists approached us and offered their services, I ignored them, but some of us asked me if we would go by motorcycle or not, I told them if they want to take the motorcycle it’s going to be okay, and I will accompany Atiqah walk, but surprisingly Atiqah told me that she was tired and wanted to take the motorcycle, so we took the ride! When we arrived at the bus park, Atiqah approached me then she said sorry because she cried at first, she told me that she is afraid riding motorcycle, the last time she rode it was a few years ago and she was like screaming all the time hahaha but the last thing she said was surprised me “But today, it was the best ride”.  Yay! A moment which worth to try, eh Atiqah? Hihihi
We were done with Bromo, bye bye Bromo. I’ll see you again at some other time!
We continued the trip to Batu, Malang. There Ms. Viqi, Mr. Hari, Mr. Gesang and his fiancé waited us, they’ve prepared for the villa, and everything. The villa was so nice and comfy, it has front and backyard full of green grass. I slept in one room with Dinda, Afiqah, and Faizah. We were so lucky; we got a room with a bathroom inside hihihi
After taking some rests and cleaning ourselves we went to Coban Rondo waterfall; Coban means waterfall, and Rondo means widow in Java. People said there’s a sad story behind it, but I don’t know what it is hahaha -hey yo careless person!- after that we went to Alun-alun Kota Batu, it is the central of Batu city, a lot of people going to Alun-alun looking for entertainment and foods. Dinda and I tried Ceker Setan and Sayap Kere, we thought it would be so spicy, but it turned out it wasn’t so spicy as what we thought. Actually Mr. Hari would take us to Mount Banyakan, but it was too late because the sun started to set itself, so we went to the Alun-alun instead.
After finishing our meals at Alun-alun we went back to the villa, we chatted a lot of things at the villa, Ms Viqi and Mr. Hari prepared our snacks as the companion for chit chatting hahaha then I went to bed with Dinda because we felt so sleepy.
The next day, we went to Batu Secret Zoo, it wasn’t even a secret anymore for me though because it has been so many times I visit it. We walked in hurry because we didn’t have much time since we had to catch the train, but MS. Viqi, Dinda, Afiqah, Faizah, and I did try two rides, Shark Coaster and Tsunami; the Tsunami was the best! We got bonuses, it was usually only took us for two rounds, but when we tried it yesterday, it took us for hmm I couldn’t even count it, even the keeper teased us by unlocking the safety belt and turned the machine on again for two rounds, hhh I couldn’t feel my knee, I screamed so loud hahaha it was the best!
At 12pm we gathered in front of the building to get back to the villa and picked our belongings and went to the train station, it was raining when we arrived at the station, so we had to run to the gate to avoid getting wet. It took 2 hours until we arrived at Surabaya.
A bunch of thanks for Ms. Viqi, Mr. Hari, Mr. Gesang and fiancé, Dinda, and my new friends Afiqah, Fai’izah, Gift, Nong, Pe, Pop, Yew, Atiqah, Dayang, Tira, Faizal, Azmeer! And for Mr. Hari thanks for the foods, the villa, also the rides! We really enjoyed it. The noodle tastes so good! Thanks thanks thanks!
My wishes really came true, I got bored, I got holiday to Bromo and Batu. I wished for meeting some new people, I meet many new lovely people. God’s plans are always the best. Alhamdulillah.
